FIVE TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE....

HAS ANYONE EVER PAID A LARGE BILL FOR YOU AS A GIFT?

IT'S AN AMAZING FEELING TO KNOW SOMEONE CARES ENOUGH ABOUT YOU PERSONALLY TO COVER YOUR DEBT! GOD, THE CREATOR OF EVERYTHING ALSO CARES FOR YOU AND HAS GONE TO A GREAT EXPENSE TO COVER YOUR DEBT. HE LITERALLY PAID IT ALL!

TRUTH NUMBER 1

God knows who you are and loves you.

Did you know that God loves you? Take a moment to really think about that statement- God loves you. Regardless of who you are. Regardless of your race, age, background, past failures or any other aspect of your life, He deeply cares about you and is personally aware of all that is going on in your life. In short, God has an incredible love for you and wants more than anything else to have a genuine, personal relationship with you that can last forever.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

TRUTH NUMBER 2

Sin has separated you from God.

You have a problem; in fact, we all have it. We are sinners. We have broken God's commands. The Bible calls this sin. In Romans 3:23 it specifically says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". That means, we cannot measure up to God's standard. Have you ever lied, stolen, or lusted in your heart? Sure, you have. By your own admission you've broke God's moral law. Looking honestly into our own hearts reveals the truth- we have all committed sin. Sin has devastating consequences- eternal separation from God, which the Bible refers to as spiritual death. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death". If you die without God you will die for eternity in an awful place called hell. You need to be saved from your sin!

TRUTH NUMBER 3

Good works cannot fix your problem.

Many people have the notion that being a good person or doing good works will fix their sin problem. Most people think that at the end of life God is going to weigh your good with your bad and if you've done more good than bad you'll get into heaven. But the Bible is clear.....good works will not save you. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."  Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us;" No works are sufficient!

TRUTH NUMBER 4

Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved!

In His love and mercy, God chose to give His Son Jesus to pay for your sin. Jesus is just as much God as God the Father is, yet He came to earth and lived a human life. Jesus faced all the trials and temptations that we face but never sinned. He voluntarily died on the cross for us, having done nothing wrong. On the cross He paid for our sin! He was buried but the Bible tells us that three days later He rose from the dead, proving to all that He was truly God. Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The good news is that Jesus died for us! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" There is no other way to be saved but by Jesus and the work He did for us on the cross. John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

TRUTH NUMBER 5

YOU MUST TRUST CHRIST ALONE FOR SALVATION FROM SIN

The Bible says we are saved by "faith". Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith..". There are two elements of faith to consider when it comes to salvation from sin. These two elements are like two sides to the same coin. First there is repentance and then there is faith. You cannot have one without the other. Repentance is a change of mind. It is a change of mind about sin. Have you changed your mind about sin? Do you see the wickedness of your ways? Repentance is a change of mind about self. Do you understand that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself? Repentance is a change of mind about the Saviour. Do you admit Jesus is the only way to be saved? If you have changed your mind about sin, self, and the Saviour you are prepared to fully trust Christ to save you! The Bible says, Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Will you call on the name of the Lord admitting to Him that you are a sinner, helpless to save yourself? Will you call on the Lord confessing that you believe He is the only way to be saved and that you believe the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus was the payment for your sins? On the authority of the Word of God, if you will call on the Lord He will save you and give you eternal life!
